St. Joseph Homeschool Defenders Volleyball (“the Defenders,” “we,” “us”) provides this website and a text-message program to coordinate team activities for the families of enrolled players. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

  • Player and parent/guardian names
  • Guardian mobile phone numbers and email addresses
  • Team logistics you provide, such as ride needs and volunteer sign-ups

We collect this information only from families who enroll a player in the program.

How we use it

We use your information solely to run the team: sending schedules, schedule changes, practice reminders, ride coordination, and volunteer requests, and to display the team schedule and roster to the team. We do not use it for advertising.

Text messaging (SMS)

You opt in by texting our keyword (JOIN) to the team number, (816) 253-8648. By opting in you agree to receive SMS text messages from the St. Joseph Defenders about team operations.

  • Message frequency varies by season — typically a few messages per week during the playing season.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help.
  • Consent to receive texts is not a condition of participating in the program.

We do not sell or share your information

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number, SMS opt-in information, or any personal information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used only to operate the team’s text-message program. Information may be processed by the service providers that run our website and message delivery (for example, website hosting and SMS delivery) solely to provide this service to you.

Data retention & security

We keep information only as long as needed to run the team and take reasonable measures to protect it.

Children’s privacy

Team rosters concern minors but are provided and controlled by their parents and guardians, who manage their own and their player’s information.
